FertiProtect

Fertility care for the future.

Malignant cancer may require fertility-damaging surgery, radiation or chemotherapy that damages or destroys existing germ cells, such as eggs and sperm or ovarian and testicular tissue.

In order to maintain fertility for later, unfertilised eggs, fertilised eggs, ovarian tissue, sperm or testicular tissue can be frozen and stored prior to the respective cancer therapy. At a later stage, after healing, a pregnancy can be achieved by means of artificial insemination.

This therapy is to be supported by the public health insurance companies in the future.
